Sewing Machine Maintenance

Afternoon y'all

I have been having trouble with my sewing machine lately. When I opened it up I realized just why that was...

I hadn't cleaned it out.
Ever.
Yikes!

I painstakingly picked out all the fuzzies, snipped strings and oily muck and wow let me tell you what a difference it made.

I should have been a bit more observant while taking the machine apart as I have had some tweaks to make since putting it all back together. I did end up consulting my manual and it is happily humming right along now, spic and span.

I am thinking I may not be the only out there that has this dilemma, so for your ease and benefit I have found a great little article from a cute sewing blog, Sewing School,  that I'd love to share with you here. This is a great little DIY tutorial that can apply to pretty much any machine. Go carefully and pay attention to what/how the pieces came apart so you won't have trouble putting it back together.

Best of luck and happy clean machines!
